Productive Weekending

Had a very productive weekend.  I don’t know if it is just cause it is the New Year or if I have actually turned over a new leaf.  I got the transmission out of the Volvo. It would have been put back in but I found out that my pressure plate was not going to work and I am going to have to get the correct part.

I also started prepping a door in my house for paint/stain. I started scraping the paint from my bedroom door. I put in maybe 8 hours worth of work and got the entire door jam scrapped. It still needs some sanding but I made good progress.

I think part of the reason that I am making such good progress on everything is because I rediscovered books on tape… on mp3. I have started to “re-read” books while I work.  Right now I am working my way through the Harry Potter books. After that I think I am going to do The Wheel Of Time.

New Year Resolution 2012

Last year I never quite got around to making resolutions.  That worked out not well.  This last year has been all over the place.  It started off well, but work got in the way of that.  It would seem that my department has started the long sad march to becoming redundant.  I guess I don’t mind, since my job is sort of safe, but I think that is time that I changed departments.

Anywho, this year I want to work on being stable.  I am tired of running on empty half the time, so I have to do things to make myself more comfortable.

Get Healthy:  I did ok this year.  Started out well, lost it in the middle, got back on track.  Basically I want to eat less and exorcize more.

Get out of Debt:  The Challenger has put me in a badish spot.  The car/insurance payments have made it so that I am not making money like I used to.  If I tried I could probably pay off my smallest school loan.  That is my goal for this year.  Pay off as much of my debt as I can.  Working out a better budget is the fist step.

Clean Up The House:  It is officially official.  I have lived in one place on my own in this house longer then anyplace else.  It is time for me to really make this place my own.  Paint first.  That should be easy.  After that I think furniture… but that kinda goes in the face of my get out of debt resolution.

Resolutions

I have to work on making some resolutions this year.  I meant to last year but never really got around to it.
